From bacteria to engineered gene/DNA sequences to higher-order lifeforms such as genetically engineered mice, the patenting of biological material has become common practice. This patentability facilitates a commodification of living matter, both naturally occurring and synthetic. Feeding on Infinity invites viewers to co-create and share ownership of new speculative organisms, challenging the practices of individual and institutional ownership over our planet’s diminishing biodiversity.

Leveraging open source machine learning platforms and freely available cloud-based GPU’s, the installation can generate a nearly infinite number of biomorphic, pseudo-cellular and counterfeit amoebic forms, prompting discussion around community-driven bioprospecting and natural capital.
